OOTD- Beige silk kurta with Ankle pants

Hi girls. Winter is almost over here in Delhi and I have finally decided to join a gym as my mom and Mr. hubby have finally given me a ultimatum to lose weight. I have developed a double chin and Mr. Hubby is calling me Baby Anaconda (Grrrr. I hate that name). Anyhow enough of my personal description here (hehe). Today’s post is about this modern ethnic look that I created with silk kurta and ankle pants. You guys know how much I love experimenting with clothes and I just love our Indian ethnic wears (check out more ethnic looks).

This outfit is the one I showed you in my previous post on “design your own outfit at affordable cost”. I got the khadi silk fabric myself and designed it. Ankle pants look so chic with a long kurta. You can accessorize in different ways to create casual and formal looks. Silk is the fabric that I love most among all. It is the classiest fabric for me in the world. I would advise you all to go for plain solid silk kurta and accessorize with statement jewellery to create a super chic look.

Coming back to today’s post, as the Outfit was in plain beige color so I added pop of colors with bright colored accessories. I paired this look with beautiful blue golden mojaris or juttis, a silk clutch and a pendant neckpiece. The pendant is the one I showed you guys in my last post “February 2016 shopping haul”. I added an ethnic ring and blue peacock kundan bangles to give the whole look a royal feel. This look is perfect for the morning functions.

For the makeup I went with black smokey eye. Smokey eye looks so amazing when the outfit is in solid color so that the whole attention comes to the eyes. I am loving bold smokey eyes these days (you must have noticed in my Instagram pictures). I let my hair loose for this look for a girly vibe.

  1. I second you for calling silk world’s best material. I love silk sarees, tops, dresses, scarves. I was thinking the same. My husband also buys Khadi cotton and silk for his shirts. I will do the same. Nice idea Megha and yes at least you are called baby anaconda, I am called Bulbasaur or the worst of all ‘kaddu kumari’. Cheers!

    • Thanx Ankita. LOL I thought only My hubby calls me with weird names 😛

    • Lol I am happy my double chin is not visible yet 😉 Yeah these juttis are my new fav too 🙂

    • Thanx Shilpa. These kadas look great with all ethnic wears 🙂

  2. Double chin???? It is not even showing up, husbands have a tendency to see what’s invisible to the world. I loved your outfit, jewellery, makeup, juttis all…it is just bang on perfect 🙂 🙂 🙂

    • Aww thank you so much Khushi for your lovely comment 🙂

    • Lol. So I am not alone in this weird name calling thing :P. Thanx Vishakha 🙂

    • Thanks Anubhuti. Yeah designing yourself gives a lot of choices 🙂
